The good weather has finally arrived and we can see golfers enjoying the warmth and sunshine as they head positively to the first tee looking forward to a great game of golf. This frame of mind can change though after a few bad shots and it is important to remember that you are in some beautiful surroundings doing something that you are supposed to be enjoying. So even if you are having a tough time hitting the ball where you want to try to forget about the score, relax and try to give yourself a target of thinking positively on each shot. This way you don't give up and focuses you on trying to hit a good shot rather than getting down yourself and wishing you were nearer the clubhouse. Hopefully the good weather will continue for a while and hopefully you will be enjoying the golf just as much.
Steve Light is the new holder of the Club's Seniors Spencer Cup.
The 59-year-old won the senior-section trophy at his second attempt, his 39 points beating Seniors Vice Captain David Debell by two shots.

Vice Captain John Smith and Keith Edmunds tabled a vital half.
The unbeaten run of the Club's Senior squad has come to an end. After beating Stowe 6-2, they lost by the same score at The Bedfordshire. Skipper Robbie John teamed up with Graham Avery to open the Club's account against Stowe, Robbie registering an eagle on the 7th hole when his 125-yard eight-iron shot found the hole. They were followed into the clubhouse with wins by Harry Adam and Kelvin Young, Peter Myrants and David Newby, Will Sampson and Keith Camp, Terry Wright and Derek Browning and Ron Dickinson and Martin Broadley. But only Robbie and Dave Roberts and Fred Ritchie and David Debell managed to return winning cards against The Bedfordshire, though Harry Adam won a bottle of wine for his nearest-the-in shot on the 148-yard 13th hole.
