We had the first round of the summer Stableford on Sunday and we had some fine scores with Manny Barker finishing on top with 42 points. Manny is obviously enjoying his new custom fitted PING i25 irons.
Well done Manny.
Second spot was taken by Ed Stephenson with 41 points and Voja Savic came in third place with 40 points. Great scores and well done.
The greenstaff and club members have been doing some fantastic work on the greens this week. They have been using the graden machine to inject sand and seed into the greens. The graden machine puts slits in the green and then injects the sand and seed. The sand and seed is mixed together by the hard working souls before being injected. This happened last year and the greens were fantastic once the work was completed.
Do you often get to the first tee and feel rushed? Does it take you a couple of holes to get going in your round and by the time you're warmed up the chance of a good score has gone? If this is the case then friend of Leighton Buzzard and associated physiotherapist Diana O'Reilly has put together a short warm up routine that will not only help you play better golf but also greatly reduce the chance of injury.
It can be accessed by clicking here.
I have total confidence and faith in Diana as she has worked with the World's leading golf physio Michael Dalgleish. Not only that, Diana is the only reason I can still play golf. I have a few back issues that cause me problems and if I did not follow Diana's advice I know I would be in serious trouble. She is simply the best

In our drive to grow golf at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club we had two schools competitions at the club this week.
The first was on Monday with year 5 & 6 pupils from around the area and the second was on Tuesday with year 2 & 3 pupils.
Both events were held on the practice fairway and from what I could see the day was enjoyed by all.
