This week I am away with my family in France. This year I have made a point of booking the half term breaks off with my family. It is the first time in 13 years at the club I have done this. My son is now 13 and my daughter is 10 and I am realising their childhood will be over before I know it. So, we are enjoying the Loire Valley this week which is lovely. I do like France. Maybe the wine and the cheese have something to do with it.
How many of you have struggled with topping the ball? It is a common problem that can be cured with a little bit of work.
One of the problems people have is they shorten the radius of their swing. The old chestnut of "you lifted your head" is not accurate.
People top the ball for two main reasons. They fall back away from the target or they pull their arms in when they come into impact and after impact. People quite often don't know they are pulling their arms in. A golf swing that has extension is an effective golf swing that will be consistent. If you work on the exercise in a consistent manner it will help your golf.
Do you often get to the first tee and feel rushed? Does it take you a couple of holes to get going in your round and by the time you're warmed up the chance of a good score has gone? If this is the case then friend of Leighton Buzzard and associated physiotherapist Diana O'Reilly has put together a short warm up routine that will not only help you play better golf but also greatly reduce the chance of injury.
It can be accessed by clicking here.
I have total confidence and faith in Diana as she has worked with the World's leading golf physio Michael Dalgleish. Not only that, Diana is the only reason I can still play golf. I have a few back issues that cause me problems and if I did not follow Diana's advice I know I would be in serious trouble. She is simply the best
