Trip Down Magnolia Lane
The year's first Major is here and the anticipation builds as to who's going to be the player who can keep his nerves and mind under control to be able to put on the Green Jacket after winning The Masters.
We know the course layout so well after watching the tournament year after year, but it never fails to deliver when it comes to seeing great golf shots and never becomes boring to watch. We hear a lot about getting the ball in the correct place to hit the next shot otherwise it becomes an almost impossible shot to get close to the hole with the slopes and speed of the greens. It is as much about course management as it is about anything else.
Jordan Spieth said he was just trying to hit a little cut into the flag on the 12th hole, as we know the ball ended up in the water on his way to a 7 on the par 3. If he had been thinking correctly he would've hit a draw into the middle of the green and not even thought about going for the flagstick and he would have kept his lead.
Danny Willett took advantage of the situation and hit great shots with clear thinking to become Masters Champion. Who knows what lies ahead this weekend, I do know however that it will be enjoyable to watch just as it always is.

Mick Steals The Show
There was a large turnout in last Saturday's Club Medal, but good scoring was hard to come by. Only eighteen players managed to beat par.
In Division One it is congratulations to Phil Eddy who scored a superb nett 65 closely, followed by Andres Valentine with a nett 66, who in turn was followed by Tim Dawson and Chris Ive who both shot nett 68's. With nett 69's were Billy O'Neill and Jason Brooks and with nett 70's were Voja Savic, Shane Bentley, Colin Beesley, Scott Douglas and Duncan Figg.
In Division Two it's congratulations to Steve Molyneaux after his superb nett 65, in second place was Stuart Goodwin with a nett 66, followed by Peter Townley with a nett 67 and then with nett 70's came Brandon Waddington, Derek Hobday, Stephen Foster and Paul Dowdeswell.
In the same competition, Mick Myatt was buying the drinks after he managed to make a hole in one on the 11th using his 6 iron, it is his 7th of his golfing career.
