With winter rules in full force we should all be able to have a good lie when playing our shots. That is if you hit the fairway of course. It looks like the players that played in the most recent club events seemed to have no trouble at all. Scott Douglas continued his rich vein of form by winning the midweek stableford with 40 points and Richard Youldon finished second with 39 points. Roger Servantes took third spot with 38 points on count back from Steve Gibbs and Andy Jenkins.
The Saturday medal was won by Steve Giles with a nett 66 with David Scott taking second on count back from third place Dave Banwell and fourth place Dave Roberts. All three shot a nett 67.
The Sunday stableford was won by Simon Goodall on 40 points with Dave Banwell finishing second on count back from Josh Rowles with both players scoring 39 points. Well done to all the winners with all players performing exceptionally well.
Wayne Strides Out
Our second Southern Hemisphere import put his running shoes on for a great cause on Sunday. Our very own Wayne Hugo completed a 5 km run with wife Fiona on Sunday to raise money for the multiple sclerosis society.
Some of you may already know that Wayne’s lovely wife Fiona is a sufferer of the debilitating disease. Wayne freely admitted it was more of a walk than a run due to Fiona finding it a challenge due to the disease.
It was great that they both took the time to raise money and awareness for the disease and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but it can affect younger and older people too. Roughly three times as many women have Multiple Sclerosis as men.
